I'm not sure if it's going to come up main plot-wise so I guess you could give it a miss if you don't want to get it, but I would still recommend it highly, as it has quite a nice story in itself. There's pros and cons to each, but Arrival furthers Shepard's story and will explain some of the events at the beginning of ME3, while Shadow Broker furthers Liara's and is very fun to play. I would definitely recommend Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker, if you're really into the story. It contains some of the best guns in the game. However, if you had to choose just one weapons DLC, buy the Firepower Pack. I own a PS3, so while I didn't get to import a save file from the first game, I was able to purchase the N7 complete arsenal for eight bucks. I personally find the locust to be the best SMG in the game, and the flamethrower is unmatched when taking on large groups of armored enemies. You get a character, a mission, and a kickass weapon to boot for each. However, though it's not truly related to the main story, the plot here is pretty fascinating, and the gameplay takes on some horror aspects while progressing on foot.īoth Kasumi and Zaeed are pretty great IMO. On insanity, the turrets will wreck your shit indefinitely they down you in just a few seconds of fire and the Hammerhead's missiles barely do jack shit against them. I'm not a huge fan of mining for minerals with the Hammerhead. Let me repeat: this one gives you tons of shit: a new location to visit, a temporary squadmate, assloads of credits and other resources, and other fantastic new content.Īrrival's fights were pretty fun, and is what I'd consider to be most integral to ME3 story-wise. It wins hands-down in terms of quality of content, and it's pretty significant story-wise. Lair of the Shadow Broker takes precedence. It's all fantastic, save for the extra outfits and maybe some armor packs. Zaeed's mission was alright but nothing special, he was a badass though. Kasumi's mission was fun and I love her as a character. The story was actually good enough too, as I said before that ending was captivating and one of the best scenes in the game IMO.

EDIT: Actually fuck it Overlord was good, I completely forgot that the whole VI tracking you and watching your every move while controlling where you go sometimes was spooky as fuck at times. I do not regret getting it just because the ending was so god damn awesome. I didn't think it's plot wasn't very good BUT the ending was a god damn tear jerker. Flying around in that crappy hammerhead and it added nothing to the story. I enjoyed every minute of it and would say it is definitely worth it. I'd say worth getting if you want to know what the deal is at the start of ME3. Arrival pretty much just bridges the gap between ME2 and ME3, other than that I didn't think it was too great and it felt a bit linear compared to the rest of the game as your choices didn't seem to have an impact.
